Re: Modified Gladius

I wonder what the gladius would look like with a small faring and double headlights? Perhaps a larger single like the duck had...

anything is better than the stock one though...

that D A M N thing keeps reminding me of the exagerated cod pieces they were wearing in that George Clooney Batman movie... fuggin ugly to put something like that on the front of the bike... it may fit better on a bikini faired bike.. but a naked one... well it looks like A$S

Re: Modified Gladius

I am currently looking into a big round headlight, but as mentioned above, the brackets and gauges aren't exactly an easy conversion. Might get to it this winter when it gets too cold to ride.

Yeah.. that will look immensely better... or like I say even some medium size dual headlights might look cool too...

I wouldn't mind the gladius... but there are 3 things I hate most about it... 1) the sh!tty name.. (yeah so what it was a roman sword but it sounds like a transvestite flower) it might as well have been called a the Suzuki Phallus

2) the god awful headlight... think batman's codpiece in the Clooney batman...

3) the ass ugly exhaust...

other than that it would be ok...

I had the same problem when buying my SV K7 model..terrible angular styling, bazooka exhaust and self corroding fasteners. Still, I forgave it because of its lovely vtwin and decided well I cant see it when Im riding it lol.

Re: Modified Gladius

I can not find a website in the States that sells the Pyrimid plastic belly pan and rear hugger. I just want them in black.

Re: Modified Gladius

The name? Who cares what it's called... lol. I agree on the stock exhaust, but that is an easy swap (and those M4's look pretty good on there). The headlight looks like they modeled it after the Augusta Brutale, I wouldn't call it ugly, but again not my style.

Anyway, I'd hit it! lol ... I'd just swap the exhaust and headlight. And a seat cowl would be a nice add. Luckily my bud is a metal wiz, so I'd have him fab me up something for the gauges. Anyway Meloto that bike looks pretty killer as is.

Re: Modified Gladius

I was looking at some pictures of rear huggers, and it appears that an SV650 hugger will fit a gladius. They appear to have the same swing arm. Does anyone know if it would bolt on?

Re: Modified Gladius

Zokambaa - I am with you.....the first thing I did when I got my bike home was pull off the Gladius stickers off worst name ever. I then bought a used Street Triple dual headlight but it was damaged in shipping. I then spent the rest of the summer thinking I would just trade in the SFV for a Street Triple this fall. This was the bike I was wanting but did not have the funds to buy this spring so I bought the SFV. But then I got the wife pregnant so I decided spending another 4-5 thousand on the upgrade was not going to happen so I put aside 1K to mod the SFV and enjoy the V-twin for the foreseeable future. I also came across the you tube of the MIVV can on the SV a couple months ago. I ordered it 3 weeks ago it should be in any day now. And I noticed the dual headlights he had on his SV ordered some of those also they should be in this week I will post a picture when I install.

I wish I read this thread earlier because I would of snapped some pics of the headlight removal from the SFV It is really pretty simple to respond to some of your concerns. There are 2 8mm bolts that hold the bracket on thats it. They are located on the bottom of the bracket. First remove the two Dumbo ears (the gray pieces of plastic on the side of the headlight. You then can pull the headlight forward and expose the two 8mm bolts remove these. But before removing the bracket you need to disconnect the front brake cable from the handlebars. And then unplug the instrument panel it connects under the gas tank you can reach it from the side of the bike. Then remove the front signals they have a clip to unplug them. pull the instrument cable and brake line threw the bracket and pull down on the headlight and the bracket and light will pull out in one piece. Oh yeah unplug the headlight first there are two connections that just unplug.

Then find a headlight and some mounting brackets and install. Lots of options....Round, rectangular, dual you can even find a fairing with lights.

I can't tell you how valuable that thread with the microfiche is if you have not used it you should. It has just about all Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki Bikes with part numbers. This could be the best thread on here.

Otto.
The Triumph would of been nice but becoming a Dad for the first time is way better!
