Edmonton SVRiders - this Monday

Metralla and I are set to meet at the Timmy's on Whyte Ave at 2 pm this coming holiday Monday. The weather should be pretty nice actually. Not too hot, not too cold. So anybody in the Edmonton area who can make it is definitely welcome!

We haven't really planned a route per se... but I'm sure that it'll just be fun to meet with other SV'ers and then figure out where we go from there.

Any other Albertan's who happen to be in Edmonton with their bikes are also encouraged to join

Re: Edmonton SVRiders - this Monday

Alright, well that totally didn't work out because our sunny Labour Day Monday turned cloudy, rainy and then all out sh!tty later on.

This weekend they say is going to be fantastic across Alberta. I've got the greenlight to make for the mountains Friday after work... Hwy 1A and maybe 40 through Kananaskis anyone?! Or maybe the Golden setup? I'm going, and I'm gonna do some high altitude corner carving alone or in a group, so if anyone's interested, now's the time!

Re: Edmonton SVRiders - this Monday

Oh, sounds like so much fun! My wife works, so I'm solo with 2 children! Can't carry that much luggage, but would be interested in hooking up some time. I'm in the general vicinity (Swpk), so can sometimes make it out for an evening. I need a bit of lead time to plan an escape tho - sometimes it works, somtimes not - thats what happens when your spouse works shift...

Saw a black SV downtown today on 101st southbound heading towards crowne plaza. Could it have been you? I ride every day - silver K3 SVS, usually travel down 98th ave in from Swpk.

See you 'round town!

Re: Edmonton SVRiders - this Monday

Hmmmm, haven't done any riding downtown lately, but there ARE a couple of black SV1K's lurking on Edmonton streets. Mostly I'm on the southside and go back and forth to the westside, either via Groat Road and UofA (lots of hotties this time of year) or by Anthony Henday to Whitemud. Incidentally, the offramp from Anthony Henday South to Whitemud Eastbound is an absolutely perfect circle to practice body position in cornering. Just keep your line tighter through the end to avoid some potholes to the outside of the lane. They're pretty scary if you already have your SV cranked right over!

So far we've got mbro and Metralla in Edmonton interested in meeting sometimes. I know pne used to post around here a lot, but I believe he's lost interest in poking about in and around the city. There's also Motokid from Edmonton. We're out here, we just have to get it together!

Re: Edmonton SVRiders - this Monday

Hey guys. I'm in Edmonton. I just started riding this year but I don't think i'm ready for group riding yet and the idea of "corner carving" in the mountains scares the **** out of me lol. I mostly just take it easy on the mean streets of northside edmonton :P

Re: Edmonton SVRiders - this Monday

Hi mwolbaum! Most important of all is that you're out there getting to know your bike and that you love motorcycling. I also felt for the longest time that solo riding let me get to know my bike at my own pace, so nothing wrong with that at all.

I for one, think that most people who study up on what kind of bike would suit them best, and then decide on an SV, are pretty sensible and the sort who would be great to ride with.

I'm still taking off Friday afterwork, but I really like the idea of a meet 'n greet of sorts amongst us all before the season is up! 'Till then keep riding, keep learning, and keep having fun

Hi there,

Sorry, a rather unusual combination of work/school/wife/kids/weather have force me offline. mbro, the black SV (naked, 650) is probably mine, as I ride in downtown all the time (work there).

Guys, are your bikes stored for winter, or you have space for a last -cold- ride before we put them to sleep?

FovererNorth and I have tried to meet before, maybe this time will work!

Re: Edmonton SVRiders - this Monday

Hello!

Still riding and will stubbornly hold out as long as roads remain dry (it's just what I do lol).

Still commuting to work too. Who's doing what this Saturday!

Re: Edmonton SVRiders - this Monday

I hardly rode on the street at all this year besides a couple trips to BC and montana. I'll be out and about next year though, although on my new bike. Come over and chat if you see me at timmies, I'm selling my SV right now but I know thing or two about them

I might have some sv parts for sale pretty soon too, suspension goodies, spare wheels, tank, plastics, etc.
