2007 SV1000S - starting with clean slate!

I picked up this beauty with 3k on her and totally bone stock.

there's nothing like having a supportive wife when getting another bike.... god I love her

bone stock

after just a few weeks i found a set of carbon Yosh TRS pipes in Texas

Here are the standard- Stock pipes, no pipes, and aftermarket pipes videos.

Stock

Carbon Yosh-ness

Every time I see those videos, I STILL cant believe how little of an idea you get of what the pipes actually sound like. The only ones that are close are the stock ones because you cant hear them....

The Video does NO justice to the Yosh pipes at all... kinda sad.

So as you can see, Im just getting started. This week I bought a ZX10 shock, a FE kit, a new screen..... and soon ill order the Heli bars.

Sooner or later I might think about doing the forks or something.... time will tell.

Stay tuned.

Re: 2007 SV1000S - starting with clean slate!

UPDATE:

Got the ZX10 shock yesterday that was supposed to have 3k on it - and the thing is beat down..... there's a bunch of rubber missing from the shock and its FILTHY. The only way its got 3K on it is if it was being DRAGGED behind the bike.

Anyways- im still going to install it and the FE kit on Saturday.

After that, Im going to start wrinkle coating parts Black.....

stay tuned.

Re: 2007 SV1000S - starting with clean slate!

So I finally got all my crap together and my buddy agreed to let me use his house to do some work on my bikes.

The SV needed the FE kit and the ZX10 shock installed - plus fresh oil

The XR needed rubber and oil

The CB400F needed oil, chain and sprockets.... and since there was no way were were doing all three in one day, I sent the 400 to my mechanic.

My room mate is a professional mechanic and he rides my 400F to work ALL the time - so he "volunteered" to work on the SV that day.... I actually think he's got a crush on it.

anyways, I needed to change the tires on the XR which is a MONUMENTAL pain in the ass and it took me about half as long to do that as it took Chris to do ALL the work on the SV.
Desert racing tires and toobs are wicked stiff.

This really bummed me out because I really wanted to install the FE kit and shock myself - but there just wasnt time and I can always take it all apart if I feel the need...

my room mate setting to work at it...

tail section off

here is the stock shock with the zx10

chris and my wife - getting the new shock in

its getting dark out but the FE is installed and all we need to do it put it back together

both the bikes at the end of the day

the end of the day - the wife and the bike
