I've been looking at SVs almost since they first came out... it was actually the first motorcycle I ever got really interested in, and I finally bought mine today.

01, 3500 miles, excellent condition.

Just got it back from Cleveland a few hours ago... previous owner was Tommy Pantsdown.

Since I'm new to motorcycles (only 2 wheeled experience was the MSF course and my 50cc scooter) I'm planning on some frame/swingarm sliders as my first and only mod for a while. Probably these...

That's what everyone keeps telling me... I'm not sure I'm entirely sold on them for some reason. I think I just like the funky look of the stockers.

3100. I had buyers remorse right up until I started riding it.

I know the feeling man! I have a hard time justifying a $25 pair of pants, so you've can only imagine how buying a bike would be pretty tough. But thats awesome that you finally got one. I paid $2400 for mine, but I bought it in bum-fack eqypt and have only had it for about a month. Sadly, the whole "get-your-permit-and-insurance" thing is taking a long time. Good luck, man.

Yeah, luckily I had all that shat taken care of 6 months ago when I got my scooter... I'd go crazy if I was waiting on the Bureau of Motor Vehicles to give me the go ahead right now.

Isn't this just an SV not an SVs...I see no fairings. I'm all about the nakedness though. Not a fan of plastic. Looks good...just keep the rubber on the ground...you'll hate yourself if you drop it. I know I'm still upset about wrecking mine 3 months after I purchased it. And that was close to 2 months ago and I'm still looking for all the pieces to get it back together!

I meant to say "I've been looking at sv650s (like many SV650s, and not "an SV650 S-model") but its tricky differentiating between when you're trying to say plural SV650s and the SV650S with the fairing. I *much* prefer the naked version, personally. With the plastic it just looks like another sport bike to me. The naked one has a less ostentatious appearance... kind-of classic but without the old crappy 'classic' technology lol.

I got the motosliders from Blair at SV Racing Parts, I think the total was around 115 bucks, which isn't too bad. Kinda sucks that I didn't have any of the tools needed to make it work, that cost me another 30-40 bucks after it was all said and done (locktite, 19mm socket, 19mm deep socket, a 2nd 17mm socket, 6mm allen bit that fits on my torque wrench, 1/2 to 3/8ths adapter, stuff like that), but I don't feel too bad because i would have to buy that stuff for this bike eventually anyway... better to waste a couple hours shopping around when it's just over frame sliders than when it's an emergency repair and I come up empty tool-handed.

FWIW it was a very painless buying experience, ordering was easy, items got here quickly, very pleased with the seller.

EDIT: Oh, and I'm in columbus Ohio.

as stated, very clean bike!
as for the tools, it happened to me too. there a few tools you will need that most won't have. but it comes with the territory.

Welcome abord SVR!
