Im in smyrna ga. NW of atlanta ga city. Ive got a gs500 but Im wanting to upgrade. Either a 650 or the 1000. I like the idea of the torque and power the 1000 delivers. But the agility and riding menueverability of the 650 sounds nice. Feel free to recommend one. I will be fishing around for info while I save up cash and sell my gs. In the meantime, Im drooling over the pics and info and also dont know if the fairing or one eye is the one for me.

I just made same decision. Though the 1000 must feel great, less mpgs and more expensive exhaust upgrades bumped me to the 650. I would love to find more people to ride with in this area that aren't only interested in stunting at 120 mph on 285.

Im still debating b/n the 650 and the 1000. Still got my gs500 but should be selling it to a friend soon. I just got back tonight from a ride down peachtree st. Looking to get something bigger soon. Not that Im into stunting, I dont want to kill myself. But I like power. ;D

Migci, thats a nice one. I have to wait till I sell mine to buy though.

He just keeps buying and fixing them up for sale. So he'll always have something.
He said he likes the SV, and knows there's a good market for them.

Welcome to the cult.......or asylum or something. Anytime you all from the west side want to ride, I am down. Plus it would be most excellent to actually know other people who ride that have time. Everyone I know that rides all have families to tend to on the weekends.

Just rode the Suches loop yesterday. Light traffic, nice weather, no cops, harleys weren't out yet, doesn't get much nicer than that.

Tuckster, we ride for sure. As far as suches goes, my gs500 isnt fast enough for the big roads, but Im workin on the upgrade...:p (been to suches twice w the gs500)

Im also lookin at buells... I def like the Vtwin engines, and buell sounds like it handles real well, but im not sure about the HD sound...

Hey, we don't have to take the super slab to get to where we want to go ....I hate the interstate (even in a car....just not very interesting but if you're in a hurry and just want to 'get there' the interstates ok). So if you don't mind taking back roads neither do I! :D

Heehee, sometimes I'm so clueless...rode up to Talking Rock/Amicalola Falls and played all over GA 136/GA 52/GA 183 the other day. Not much traffic, only saw two cops and had a blast!

Tuckster: did you happen to be riding down Johnsons Ferry Rd in Scarietta around 4pm Friday? I was pulling out of Marine Fish and a lady on the same bike you ride cruised by me going southbound.

Yes, that was me heading down to Riverside to cut across Mt Vernon Hwy heading home...had just spent the entire day up in the mountains...(not really familiar w/ Scarietta/Marietta since I have just recently moved to this side of Atlanta from Snellville.)

Were you on a bike or in a car? I hope it wasn't just after I spent the last 20 min behind some stupid chick talking on her cell phone....:angry5:.....I became a little more aggressive after that for a moment.

LuciousLeftFoot
09-07-2008, 05:10 PM
I was on my bike.....you passed me just after you crossed over Roswell Rd/120 just past the PetSmart, I was on the right hand side of the road. You didn't seem like you were being aggressive so it's all good. I am guilty of getting a "little" irritated by people with a cell phone in their ears. They drive worse than drunks and are completely unpredictable.

Be careful on Riverside, there are tons of people with too much money that drive SUV's and German sport sedans living off that road. None of them have a clue how to drive and will pull out in front of you in a heartbeat. Not to mention the idiots who fly around those sharp corners crossing into the opposite lane without any care for other drivers.

I like this side of town much better than the east side of town. I lived there for a short period and moved asap, it's just a preference. Plus, it's closer to my friends and family over here.

Anyways, if you wanna go riding sometime just let me know. Most weekends I am free in the early parts of the day and always looking to get out for a ride before the rest of the crowd gets moving.

I think I remember seeing you...blue SV? I usually work most weekend mornings which is why I ride alot during the week...will be having some weekends free here soon though once I start my Opera season (no..I don't sing...I'm the Atlanta Opera's Production/Master Electrician). Would love to head up to the mountains when I do have those weekend mornings free though. If your able to ride any during the week..give me just send me a PM and were off! :D I'm very lucky to have almost every M-F off.

Yeah, those folks on Riverside Dr/Mt. Vernon/Mt Paran have way too much money...but I figure if they do hit me atleast I know they can afford the medical bills, pain and suffering, etc. or I can get a really nice house out of it. ;D.

That was me........I may have some weekdays off in the near future but most of the time I work m-f until 3pm or so. I will let you know though most definitely.
Btw, that is one sweet gig....I would do bad things to get a job in an electrical field of that nature.

You are right, they will at least be able to pay your medical bills and settlement money. Still for such high dollar people, they seem to be some of the most oblivious to the rest of the world. I guess that's what makes the world go round though.
