I was looking at the SV650 link on the Suzuki website. I read that the 2008 SV650 engine has 2 plugs vs. 1.
Ad states "Twin spark plug cylinder heads for improved combustion and reduced emissions.".
Would that = to more power or torque?
Probably more of an emissions move than anything to do with power & torque...just a guess.

U would think that it would have the potential to make gas mileage on the sv even better.
I don't think it would hurt the power, but it probably is for emissions only.

I would guess any increase in power or mileage would be unnoticable - could be the case though. Then again I have no idea when the second one fires.
I think the 2007 is dual spark too

I believe it is for emissions by providing a more even and thorough burn.

Yeah, thats what i believe it is.
Hell my 4-banger truck has 8 spark plugs and gets a whopping 18 mpg.
Now you can see why i bought myself a bike. ;)

The Suzuki Board Members just bought a piece of a spark plug company.

I talked to some Suzuki techs one day hanging out at the local bike shop. Just for emissions. No noticeable power or efficiency increase. I think it's to meet the Euro 3 emissions or California or something. I'm sure if you dyno'ed you'd probably see .1 ponies, but that small of a difference runs from SV to SV anyways, so it really doesn't matter.

It would make it a little more efficient, and possibly give a very tiny increase in performance. It would (hopefully) burn the air/fuel charge more completely, and thats kinda cool if nothing else.

^^^ they also remapped the FI from the previous years so you'd probably see a little difference in the power curves but probably the same peaks.
