GSXR Fork Rebuild - How-To- ?

Now sure if this is the right place for this. It's not really a question about the SV per se.
Does anyone have a scan of the GSXR service manual section regarding the forks?
I have SRAD forks on my GFs bike and I want to work on them but I'm not really sure where to start. I tried searching the net for the GSXR shop manual but had no luck. I surely don't want to buy an entire manual for one little section.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Stu.

I have the manual. Give me a bit to locate it.

Better yet, here is the link I found it. I don't remember which page it is on, but I was able to d/l it. Do you have the special tools required to compress the spring?

True, but for those of us who don't have the $$ to do so we have to rebuild them ourselves. I would love to send mine to be re-worked, but that gets expensive.

Here is a link to Traxxion where I got the spring compression tool.

I just got the spring compression tool, but in hind sight I should have gotten the fork bleed tool as well. You could probably make the bleed tool yourself since all it is an internally threaded rod, but I have no clue what the thread pitch & size is. Plus an oil level guage is very handy, but those can be found all over the net. I know Cycle Gear has them.

Remove forks - ship to preferred vendor.

After researching the work involved as well as gathering the needed tools & such, I decided to go that route as well. Well worth it too.

Out of curiosity who did you send them to, what are you having done and how much is it costing you?

I dropped them off at a local mx/sno-x suspension shop and had them swap internals (springs, rtgv's, etc) from one set of gsxr forks to another. Cost will vary from shop to shop but it ended up costing me about $180 total and that was with fresh oil in both sets. This was done last spring.

opening a cartridge fork setup isn't for the faint of heart, some things are best to pay a professional to do it, alottqa SVriders have had great experiances with twin works factory, traxxion, or GMD computrack
