Average Temperature

Just got a new 2007 SV650s and was wondering what the average tempurature should be when riding?

should i be worried if mine runs from 220-223 regularly? (i also have an '07, but do live in florida!)

if your moving, at highway speeds it shouldnt really ever get over 200, but if your in traffic it will get a bit higher

if the warning light isn't coming on (IIRC at 240) I wouldn't sweat it.

I wouldn't worry. I've gotten up to 135 in traffic before turning it off and had no problems nor warning lights. I just felt better shutting it off.

SV1000 - 190 to 210

You should be able to find that information in your owner's manual. If you call the dealer they should be able to tell you the temperature where the fan kicks in. If the fan never kicks in then you could have a wiring or fuse problem.

i think my fan kicks on at about 235, but i run about 185-190 on the highway at speed...if sitting still in traffic in hot weather it climbs steadily till the fan comes on and then it cools surprisingly quick.little fan works pretty good.
