I am in the process of writing a series of How-To's on Moto411 (http://moto411.com/) that cover the nuances of selling motorcycle parts online. Here's the first installment:

And here's the second:

I also wrote this on another board a while back:

Pretty good write up. Seems to be DZC is doing all the right things. :occasion14:

Excellent to hear! http://mazeguy.net/happy/thumbsup.gif

I'm working on the second installment of the Moto411 (http://moto411.com/) article now which deals with some of the drudgery of completing the transaction, the ugliness that can ensue when things go wrong and how best to deal with it.

Once I'm finished, I'd love to know what you think and to know if you have any additional tips from your own experiences.

yeah, I have a little convoluted process for buying my stuff...in that I need an email or a PM to initiate an order, and once I get that, I send the info for a paypal payment...so long as I have the stuff in stock.

Once I get bigger and have money that can be tied up in inventory, I'll look into one of those Zen cart type things. Not yet though.

I believe in a couple things are far as doing business:

1. I don't take any money unless I actually have the parts in hand to ship.

2. Ship as fast as possible, so long as you can. I get 99% of my stuff the day after I get paid.

3. Price things where the average guys would like to pay...still cheaper than big stores, but enough for me to make it worth while to do.

4. Ethics should always win out over making money....when it doesn't, its time to rethink things.

http://matt.bogosian.net/img/mazeguy/jump.gif Bump for the second installment (http://moto411.blogspot.com/2007/07/how-to-selling-online-part-2-exchange.html) of the How-To.

And (of course), none of the Moto411 writers would mind if you happened to show your support by buying one of these:
