jeopardy98 07-05-2007, 02:38 PM I purchased my first item from Brockton Cycle center about 6 months ago. I purchased a Fieldsheer two piece suit on closeout for about $300. After wearing the suit for two days at the rally, the seams in the right arm blew out.
When I contacted Brockton they originally told me they would not do anything and I would have to contact the company for warranty assistance. They then called me back and said they would send it out for repair if I paid to ship it back to them and I agreed even though I didn't feel I should have had to.
Three weeks have gone by since I sent it to them so I called to check on it today and I was told that they had just sent it to Fieldsheer and they should have it back in 10 days and then they would ship it to me (another 5-6 days). I did not feel that this was acceptable but I couldn't really do anything about it. I asked them if they thought that was how they should have handled it and the guy flatly stated "yes". I informed him that I would note that and make sure to not ever shop with them again.
Moments later the manager called me to tell me that I was what he likes to call a "5 percenter". He then explained that he did not appreciate me talking that way to his employees the way I had. He then explained what he meant by a "5 percenter". He said that he enjoyed dealing with 95% of the public but I was in the 5% that he never wanted to do business with again. I told him that would not be a problem because I felt the same way.
I figured I would share this with anyone who is considering shopping with them. I should have just stuck with newenough.com.
enrico vespa 07-05-2007, 03:22 PM What color and size was your suit?
jeopardy98 07-05-2007, 03:31 PM It was a 44 in yellow and black. Why were you wondering?
enrico vespa 07-05-2007, 03:43 PM Dude, my mom does a lot of freelance sewing work(she's been in the bussiness for over 20years). I just called her, it's your suit I seen there when I went over the other day.
jeopardy98 07-05-2007, 04:02 PM If you are entirely serious could you pull some strings and have her ship it directly back to me. I'll PM you and tell you why.
let me tell you that their CS skills aren't much better in person.

I can't say that I'm surprised at all.
Harsh 07-05-2007, 08:43 PM Enrico...can she sew a 360 zipper in my leather jacket? If so how much $$. There are no local shops and Barnicle Bill wants a small fortune. I have the zipper, I just need it sewn in.
Oh yah...Jeopardy that really sucks. I must say that I have heard decent things from them in the past, but that 5% comment would have sent me over the edge. I would have thrown it right back at him that he is the 5% of online retailers that ruin it for the rest of them.
schleppy 07-08-2007, 08:52 PM I"ve considered buying from them, but after reading this, no effing way.
Thanks for the heads up.
randomSV650 07-08-2007, 09:20 PM anybody have any experience with Motoxoutlet.com? A buddy of mine just ordered a jacket/helmet, got an extremely good deal too. Should ship monday, I guess we'll see how it goes.
They have fieldsheer 2 piece/1 piece suits for $299.00, i was considering one but bought a pair of pants to zip to my jacket instead.
DrummerDaveB 07-11-2007, 10:17 AM I've bought from Brockton before, and had no problems.
Although, I had no return or warranty type issues either.
motosliders 07-12-2007, 11:58 AM For any future work for anyone else, I'd like to plug Spyder Leatherworks.

Alexa does great work, and has done so for some time. (She does warranty work for 2 or 3 manufacturers now, including Icon)
I've had her repair a used suit I bought, and my wife has been working as a helper for her part time. Take a look at the gallery, lots of custom logos and such.
maxthunder 07-18-2007, 02:58 PM that's too bad
I had a great experience with Brockton 10 years ago. They didn't have my size helmet at the MC SHow and overnighted one to me from MA for free. but different people must be running the store now.
halfway 07-18-2007, 03:00 PM that's too bad, brockton has pretty good deals and my personal experience with them was positive but I didn't have any issues with what I bought and never had to deal with their CS dept.
carpe_diem 07-23-2007, 08:46 AM I had a similar problem with them a couple years ago.
Fieldsheer jacket zipper blew out, and it took them 6 months to get it repaired.
jeopardy98 07-23-2007, 11:07 PM Yea, I haven't heard from them about my suit yet. Looks like it might be time for the old BBB or if they want to play hardball a small civil suit should obtain desired results.
Morpheous 07-24-2007, 10:05 AM Wait, I though Enrico's mother did the work and had your suit? (were you able to confirm that?)

jeopardy98 07-24-2007, 10:48 PM He was kidding. :(
Harsh 07-25-2007, 06:24 PM He was kidding. :(
Unfortunately I even PM'd him about it. **** I just want to have my 360 zipper sewn into my jacket relatively inexpensive.
Any word from them yet?
He was kidding. :(
:laughing4:
I appreciate Enrico's sense of humor but somebody with mod-power needs to follow him around adding ;) to half his posts.

I just went to a regular tailor/ cleaner to have a zipper added to my jacket but that was to the liner and not to leather. It cost $5-10.

I doubt that would pass a track gear inspection?
I doubt that would pass a track gear inspection?
IDK, guess it would depend on the orginization. I was just adding a different 3/4 zipper to a jacket that had one from the manufacturer for a different set of pants and it was attached to the back protector pocket pocket in the liner to begin with.
hlang 08-12-2007, 03:56 PM I must have missed something here. You have problems with a suit you bought 6 mos ago from Brockington. It was a clearance item (usually no returns). They are willing to send it back to Fieldsheer for repair and ship it back and you are ******? What did I miss?
