I want to get some nice looking Case covers for my SVs(03).
basically for the bling....woodcraft has nice ones but on their site they dont seem to list any for the sv.
Anyone know of any other company's that make em.
There was a pic of a guy with a clear clutch case cover over on sv650.org.....very trick but i emailed the company he got it from and they want 250 british pounds so about 600 canadian dollars for it...outrageous.

anybody have a link to that old post of the TL1000S that had the custom clear clutch cover. it was amazing. Had custom liquid black paint, hugger with flames on it. looking for the pics, but can't find them anymore. It was a nice looking bike. might have started out red or blue, then had a trackday mishap and was rebuilt??

Holy old thread Batman! In case anyone missed, the first post is from 2004- Woodcraft do now make covers for the SV (in silver, and in black)

I like the clutch covers that have the window... cool stuff.

I've never really been too convinced by those. Maybe if you could actually see into the engine, they'd be cooler, but all you see is the clutch basket and a bit of oil splash. I want seethrough cylinder barrels ;)

Hey, they had it in Star Trek IV... And it was made way back in '86. If it was in films 20 years ago, surely it should be on bikes by now?

I installed clear one on friends Bimota couple months ago.it is just plexiglass.
clutch covers that are available out there are only for first generation sv.I dont know of anybody making one for second.

Yes, completely different. Generation 1 has a beautiful round cover. Generation 2 has a huge cover (the round part + the surrounding areas)

This is my bike, when I installed a Factory Pro cover.
First photo shows the stock cover

Wouldn't the stock one be lighter though, judging from your pics above?

Grav.

PS. Nevermind it's for bling only, I just noticed the subject line.

Not just bling... Crash protection too. Hole an engine case and get gravel inside and it's a complete stip-down and hope nothing's fubared. Not that you're especailly likely to grind an SV case, of course, with the narrowness.

I'd go with EDR like the others said. They are top notch. I've seen'em in person. They are pretty cool there too. That's where I got my map done for my PCIII

axljak has beautifull cover machined from aluminum and anodized black.
I have it on my bike.

Checked out Axljak. They have some interesting stuff. http://www.axljak.com/Index.htm

Still think I prefer the Factory Pro's with the replacable nylon slider pad.

slider pad is nice but it realy does nothing on sv.clutch is so far in that sliding on pavement it will never touch down.
axljak has little cover for water pump that may come handy in crash.

That's quite good for the street riders even, since it's always the water pump that loses the paint first.

On a wee aside, (and most of you guys will probably already know about these, but why not?) there's another option in the form of Engine Armour/Bike Jonnies/many others- stick on carbon fibre or kevlar armour for your casings. Some people really like them... personally, i think they look like ass, but what do I know? I'll not have carbon fibre on my bike.

I have the Factory Pro cover as well. Not more than two trackdays after installation I lowsided on the right side. The cover did it's job and still looks fine, I didn't even need to replace the slider. BTW, it does give a little extra protection to the water pump housing. Not so much when it's sliding on pavement, but when it gets off the pavement into the grass. That's when stuff starts to get ripped off by digging into the soft ground.

I have a Woodcraft billet aluminum cover...it has a slider as well but it is placed on the lower bottom half. The case covers do work...mine has battle scars on it from sliding and flipping in the gravel trap...impacts that probably would have cracked the plastic cover.
