Hey ladies and gents,
My name is Nick. I finally got myself into good enough financial shape to upgrade motorcycles. I had a CB360T Cafe, but with consistent break downs and my money tree wilting I decided to save all winter and get a new bike this season. Originally it was to be a 02' Ducati 748 but the guy sold it from under me. But I noticed this on craigslist and I couldn't resist, it was too good.

At any rate. It is a 2006 SV650.
-OEM naked front end conversion
-ZX-10R shock
-Scorpion Street Extreme pipe
-Motosliders
-Paint matched solo seat cover
-Napoleon bar end mirrors.

Had 14,XXX miles on it and it was truly a bargain. The bike is completely mint from tip to tip and everything in between. It was in a 5 mile per hour low-side apparently but it only caught the slider, and that was replaced before I arrived.

Is there any maintenance tips that anybody could give out? Routine maintenance? Anybody up here in the middle of no place New York? So enough with the nitty gritty and probably boring the crap out of everyone. Some eye candies.

Thanks a lot, seems like a really helpful crowd. I seemingly am getting as much or more addicted to this site, than VWvortex.

Welcome to SVR. I'm originally from Watertown, NY. Used to party in A-bay back in the good ole days.

Thanks guys.

And on the partying in A-Bay note, I couldn't ask for a better place to live in the summer's and then go back to college afterwords. Its still just as rowdy, but they've made an addition to the drinking festivities called biker weekend. Which is just, out of control.

Just got back from my first ride on the bike. 2 hours of twisty country roads is a way to start a new relationship. I was riding with a buddy who has a GSXR750 and surprisingly i was keeping up with him pretty well. I am very pleased.

Just a few questions for the seasoned vets. I have been using the search function. And call me lazy but it seems like reading through 6 pages of a thread to find one answer is a little repetitive to me but WHO knows. Anyhow, I was wondering what the stipulation for putting clip-on's on the SV650-N would be? Replacing the entire front fork assembly with that of a GSXR or can you take off the triple and just slap them on there. Stemming from that question is another, if you get the suburban machinery bars with the 3.5" drop 1" forward, if the bike is in the locked position will it have any clearance from the tank? If I were to get higher further back rearsets what else would come from that would I have to adjust the shifter and brake lever? And finally, i'm looking to have more of a laid out position on the bike, and bars that will help me be more in the realm on twisties, but it seems as the tank is much lower than that of a race rep. Would tank risers help perhaps not so much with the HP gain, but giving the bike a more aggressive feel?

I'm sorry this is probably considered as ridiculous as asking this favor on VWvortex, but I figured I would ask you guys all seem pretty helpful. I'll try and get some pictures of the CB. I only have a few with clubmans on it. Haven't gotten any pictures since pipes, seat, paint ect. but i'll try. That POS is broken down in a buddies garage still, it left me stranded last riding season about 10 blocks from my house and i had to push it back in 90degree weather. No good.

Again, thanks a lot ladies and gents!
